Kanto Women's Union

A birthless women's organization affiliated with the Labor-Farmer Party, formed in July 1927. Ahead of the first general election in February 1928, birthless women activists called for the formation of the Women's Alliance as a political fighting organization for women who could not join political parties. Initially, the aim was to create a unified birthless women's organization nationwide that would also alliegate with civic women's organizations, but following the Kanto Women's Alliance, the National Women's Alliance, which supported the Japan Labor-Farmer Party, was formed in October, and the Social Women's Alliance, which was affiliated with the Social Democratic Party, was formed in November. The secretary-general of this far-left alliance was Tajima Hide. The alliance was active in calling for women's suffrage, protection and expansion of rights for female workers, and the elimination of gender discrimination, but it was dissolved in March 1928 following the advice of the Communist Party not to recognize gender-based organizations.

1927年7月に結成された，労農党系列下の無産婦人団体。28年2月の第1回普通選挙を前に，政党に加入できない婦人の政治闘争組織として，婦人同盟結成を無産婦人運動家が呼びかけた。当初は市民的婦人団体とも連合した全国統一無産婦人組織をめざしたが，関東婦人同盟につづいて，10月に日本労農党支持派の全国婦人同盟，11月に社会民衆党系の社会婦人同盟が分立結成された。最左翼の本同盟の書記長は田島ひで。婦人参政権，女子労働者の保護と権利拡大，男女差別撤廃などを要求して活動したが，性別団体を認めないという共産党の勧告に従って，28年3月解散した。
