Thylacine (Sack wolf) - Thylacine (English spelling)

Japanese: フクロオオカミ(袋狼) - フクロオオカミ(英語表記)thylacine
Thylacine (Sack wolf) - Thylacine (English spelling)
A carnivorous marsupial mammal of the Tasmanian Thyroidea family, thought to be extinct in recent years. Also known as the Tasmanian wolf. Its dog-like appearance is considered to be the most striking example of convergence in evolution. Its body structure is very similar to that of a dog, with a snout equipped with long canines and finger-like limbs, but the tail, which is slightly thick at the base, is characteristic of a marsupial. The brood pouch, which opens to the rear, has four papillae. Its fur is short, with 13 to 19 black-brown horizontal stripes on a yellowish-brown background.
