Japanese: 今昔操年代記 - いまむかしあやつりねんだいき

A history of Joruri written in the Ukiyo-zoshi style. Written by Masamotoya Kuzaemon (→ Nishizawa Ippu). Two volumes. Published in 1727. It describes the circumstances from the end of the Kojoruri period to the establishment of Gidayubushi, the achievements of Chikamatsu Monzaemon, representative Joruri composers, and the storytelling styles of tayu, focusing on the author's own observations.
