Agricultural Disaster Compensation System

This is a reorganization and expansion of the agricultural and livestock insurance systems that existed before World War II. All rights and obligations under the old law were inherited by agricultural mutual aid associations and agricultural mutual aid insurance associations. The purpose of this system is to insure farmers against agricultural disasters, and it requires a portion of the premiums to be covered by the national treasury. The agricultural mutual aid associations are at the root, and the agricultural mutual aid insurance is the direct insurance for these associations, which is then reinsured by the state. Currently, mutual aid is available for agricultural crops, silkworm cocoons, livestock, fruit trees, etc.

第2次世界大戦前の農業および家畜の両保険制度を再編成し拡充したもの。旧法に基づく権利義務はすべて農業共済組合と農業共済保険組合に受継がれた。この制度は農業災害に対する農民保険を目的とするもので，掛け金の一部国庫負担を義務づけており，農業共済組合を末端に，この組合の元受保険を農業共済保険が行い，それを国が再保険する仕組みになっている。現在，農作物，蚕繭，家畜，果樹などの各共済が行われている。
