Nuidono Ryo - Nuidono Ryo

Japanese: 縫殿寮 - ぬいどのりょう
Nuidono Ryo - Nuidono Ryo
A ritsuryo government office under the Ministry of Central Affairs. Its duties included performance evaluations based on records of daily events (number of days worked and content) for the Queen and the ladies-in-waiting of the 12 offices of the Imperial Palace, as well as sewing clothes for the Emperor and awards, and braiding (braided cords). Its staff consisted of one head, one assistant, one jo, one daisakan, one shozakan, and others. In 799, one jo was promoted to daisho and one more person was added, and in 808, it was merged with the Nuibe Office of the Ministry of Finance and the Uneme Office of the Ministry of the Imperial Household (the Uneme Office was restored in 812). → Taiho Code / Yoro Code
