Hidetoki Akahashi

Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. The last Chinzei Tandai of the Kamakura Shogunate. Son of Hisatoki. His elder brother was the last regent, Shujin, and his younger sister was Ashikaga Takauji's wife, Noriko. Shuri-no-jo. In 1321, he became Chinzei Tandai, succeeding Hojo Toki. In response to the uprisings of anti-shogunate forces led by Emperor Go-Daigo in various places, in May 1333 in Kyushu, Otomo Sadamune and Shoni Sadatsune attacked the Chinzei Tandai's residence in Hakata, and on the 25th Hidetoki committed suicide, bringing the Chinzei Tandai to an end. 鎌倉幕府最後の鎮西探題。久時の子。兄に最後の執権守時,妹に足利尊氏の妻登子がある。修理亮。元享1(1321)年北条随時の後任として鎮西探題に就任。後醍醐天皇を中心とする倒幕勢力が各地で蜂起する状況をうけ,九州でも元弘3(1333)年5月,大友貞宗,少弐貞経らは博多にあった鎮西探題の館を攻撃し,25日に英時は自殺し,鎮西探題は滅亡。『臨永和歌集』『松花和歌集』『続現葉和歌集』などに英時の和歌が収録されている。<参考文献>川添昭二編『鎮西探題史料集』下
