1313‐75 He was a vizier (vizier) of the Nasrid dynasty, historian, and poet. He was born near Granada and studied in Granada. He served under Yusuf I as a scribe, and then became vizier in 1349. He continued to hold that position under his successor, Muhammad V, but was imprisoned when the king was deposed (1358/59). After his release, he traveled to Morocco with the king. When the king was restored to the throne in 62, he resumed his position as vizier, but upon sensing a conspiracy within the court, he fled to Morocco (1371/72).
