Delhi is the capital of India and the seat of government in the southern part of the city. It is located on the right bank of the Yamuna River. It was planned to be built as the capital of British India in 1911, and the relocation was completed in 1931. It is home to the Parliament building, various government offices, and museums, in contrast to Old Delhi, which has many historical buildings.
