Pelham Hollis was a British aristocrat and statesman of the 18th century. He was the eldest son of Thomas Pelham, 1st Baron, and inherited the family line of his uncle John Hollis, changing his surname to Pelham Hollis and acquiring vast estates and the title of duke. He was Secretary of State for the Walpole administration (1724-54), and after Walpole's resignation (1742), he and his brother Pelham continued in government. After Pelham's death, he succeeded him as Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer (1754), but resigned (1756), taking responsibility for the defeat in the opening battles of the Seven Years' War.

18世紀イギリスの貴族政治家。初代男爵トマス･ペラムの長男に生まれ，叔父ジョン･ホリスの家門をも相続して，ペラム･ホリスと改姓するとともに，広大な所領と公爵の爵位を獲得。ウォルポール政権のもとで国務相に就任(1724‐54)，ウォルポールの下野(1742)後も弟ペラムとともに政府にとどまり，ペラムの没後その首相兼蔵相の地位を受け継いだが(1754)，七年戦争の緒戦の敗北の責任を負って辞職(1756)。
