Lactate dehydrogenase

Japanese: 乳酸デヒドロゲナーゼ - にゅうさんデヒドロゲナーゼ（英語表記）lactate dehydrogenase

An oxidoreductase that catalyzes the following reaction. It is an important enzyme that reduces pyruvate to lactic acid at the end of the glycolytic pathway, which breaks down sugars. It has a molecular weight of about 140,000 and requires NADH (NAD in the case of oxidation reactions) as a coenzyme. It consists of four subunits and is known as a representative example of an isozyme. In other words, there are two types of polypeptide chains in the subunits of this enzyme, M (muscle) and H (heart), so there are five isozymes for the enzyme as a whole: _M4 , _M3H , _M2H2 , _MH3 , _and _H4 .

次の反応を触媒する酸化還元酵素。糖を分解する解糖系の末端において，ピルビン酸を乳酸に還元する重要な酵素。分子量は約14万で，補酵素としてNADH(酸化反応の場合はNAD)を必要とする。四つのサブユニットからなり，アイソザイムの代表例として知られている。すなわち，この酵素のサブユニットのポリペプチド鎖にはM(筋肉)型とH(心臓)型の2種があるため，酵素全体ではM₄,M₃H,M₂H₂,MH₃,H₄の5種のアイソザイムが存在する。
