Nishiyama [Hot Springs] - Nishiyama

Japanese: 西山[温泉] - にしやま

This hot spring is located in Hayakawa-cho, Minamikoma-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture. It is located at the confluence of the Hayakawa and Yukawa rivers, tributaries of the Fuji River that flow along the eastern foot of the Akaishi Mountains, and is surrounded by high mountains over 2000m above sea level, and is blessed with the beauty of the Hayakawa valley. It is a saline spring, 42-45°C. The spring source is in a large fault zone along the Itoigawa-Shizuoka Tectonic Line. It is said to have been discovered in the Nara period, and has long been popular with hot spring cure visitors and climbers of the Shirane Sanzan mountains. With the construction of Nishiyama Dam (completed in 1957) upstream and the opening of a road, it became possible to take a bus from Minobu Station on the JR Minobu Line to the hot spring.

山梨県南巨摩（みなみこま）郡早川町にある温泉。赤石山脈東麓を流れる富士川の支流早川と湯川の合流点にあり，周囲を標高2000mを超える高山に囲まれ，早川の渓谷美にも恵まれる。食塩泉，42～45℃。泉源は糸魚川‐静岡構造線に沿う大断層破砕帯にある。奈良時代の開湯と伝えられ，古くから湯治客や白根三山への登山者たちに親しまれてきた。上流の西山ダム(1957完成)の建設に伴う自動車道路の開通により，JR身延線身延駅からバスが通じるようになった。
