Yataro Okabe

1894-1967 An educational scholar from the Showa period.
Born June 20, 1894. After serving as a professor at Rikkyo University, he became a professor at the University of Tokyo in 1948. He made many achievements in the field of educational psychology. After retiring from government, he became a professor at the International Christian University and Sophia University. He passed away on March 14, 1967, at the age of 72. He was born in Nagano Prefecture and graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. His works include "Educational Measurement" and "Educational Psychology."

明治27年6月20日生まれ。立大教授をへて,昭和23年東大教授となる。教育心理学の分野でおおくの業績をのこした。退官後,国際基督(キリスト)教大,上智大の教授。昭和42年3月14日死去。72歳。長野県出身。東京帝大卒。著作に「教育的測定」「教育心理学」など。
