A town in Yama District, northwest of Fukushima Prefecture. The Aga River (Agano River) basin is a vast agricultural area producing rice, tobacco leaves, and asparagus. Nozawa, located in the center of the town, is a former post station on the Echigo Kaido road that runs along the Aga River, and is served by the Ban'etsu West Line and the Ban'etsu Expressway.
