Nanchang Uprising

Japanese: 南昌蜂起 - なんしょうほうき

The first armed uprising led by the Chinese Communist Party. Also known as the August 1st Uprising. After the separation of the Communist Party from the Nationalist Party, the Communist Party of China withdrew from the Wuhan government and captured Nanchang, Jiangxi Province on August 1, 1927, and organized a revolutionary committee, but was surrounded and attacked by the Kuomintang army and retreated to Guangzhou after five days of occupation. After liberation, this day became known as the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Army.
