A type of radiopharmaceutical. It is a reddish purple aqueous injection that contains gold-198 in colloidal form. It is heat stable and can be mixed with physiological saline and local anesthetics, but will aggregate when metal ions are added. This product is deposited at the injection site and does not spread, and has a short half-life of 2.69 days, making it less dangerous, and is used to treat malignant tumors. 放射性医薬品の一種。金 198をコロイドの形で含む赤紫色の水性注射液である。熱に安定であり，生理食塩液や局所麻酔薬などと混和することはできるが，金属イオンを加えると凝集する。本品は注射局所に沈着して広がらないし，半減期が 2.69日と寿命が短いので危険が少いという特徴があり，悪性腫瘍の治療に用いられる。そのほか，癌転移巣の発見や，広がりの診断にも用いられる。
