Pierre Naville

Japanese: ナビル(英語表記)Pierre Naville
Pierre Naville
1904‐1993
French writer and political activist. Born in Paris, he joined the Surrealist group in 1924. He tried to cooperate with this movement and political movements such as the magazine Clarté, but gradually became more aware of himself as a social revolutionary, and left the group around 1928. Since then, he has been one of the important activists and theorists of the anti-Stalinist Communist movement in France. In addition to theoretical works such as Neo Leviathan (6 volumes, 1957-75), he has also written memoirs such as The Age of the Surreal (1977).
