Ine [town] - Ine
A town in Yosa District, Kyoto Prefecture, occupying the tip of the Oku-Tango Peninsula. The eastern coast and western mountain areas belong to the Tango-Amanohashidate-Oeyama Quasi-National Park. With Ine, the main settlement with its excellent harbor, fishing is thriving, with fixed net fishing, line fishing, and aquaculture. Mandarin orange cultivation and livestock farming are also practiced. The fishing houses facing Ine Bay are built in the style of "funa-ya," with the boathouse downstairs and the residence upstairs. The legend of Urashima has been passed down, and Ura Shrine enshrines Urashima Taro. National Route 178 runs through the town, and tourism development is also progressing. 61.95 km2 . 2,410 people (2010).

京都府与謝(よさ)郡,奥丹後半島先端部を占める町。東部海岸部と西部山間部は,丹後天橋立大江山国定公園に属する。良港をもつ主集落の伊根を中心として,定置網,一本釣り,養殖などの漁業が盛ん。ミカン栽培,畜産も行う。伊根湾に面する漁家は,階下が船場,2階が住居の〈船屋〉とよばれる形態をとる。浦島伝説が伝わり,宇良神社は浦島太郎をまつる。国道178号線が通じ,観光開発も進んでいる。61.95km2。2410人(2010)。
