coal oil energy development

coal oil energy development

[Direct coal liquefaction]
This is a method of directly converting solid coal into liquid fuel. It is classified into three types according to the principle: (1) low-temperature carbonization (COED method), (2) catalytic hydrocracking (Bergius method, H-Coal method), and (3) non-contact solvent extraction (SRC method, EDS method, solvolysis method). (1) Low-temperature carbonization This is a method in which coal is carbonized at a relatively low temperature (400-600°C) and the resulting low-temperature tar is refined to produce liquid fuel. There are methods such as the COED (coal oil energy development) method, but the drawback is that the yield of liquid products is low. (2) Catalytic hydrocracking This method (Bergius method) was developed and implemented by F. Bergius of Germany before World War II. At that time, coal was pulverized and mixed with coal liquefaction oil to form a slurry, and iron sulfide or tin chloride was added as a catalyst, and the coal was hydrocracking in the presence of hydrogen at high temperature (400-500°C) and high pressure (200-700 atm). …
