...During this period of the monarchy, the area soon came under Etruscan influence, and the name of the king, Tarquinius, indicates that he was Etruscan. Recently, archaeologist E. Gjerstad has dated Etruscan rule back to 530-450 BC, and A. Alföldi also dated the traditions of this period to the 5th century BC. New theories on the dating continue to emerge, but none of them have become mainstream. Etruscan
