Nakanojo [town] - Nakanojo

Japanese: 中之条[町] - なかのじょう

A town in Agatsuma County in northwest Gunma Prefecture. It occupies the Shima River basin, a tributary of the Agatsuma River, and is mostly mountainous. The main settlement is an old market town on the north bank of the Agatsuma River, through which the Agatsuma Line passes. The town produces rice, konjac, fruit, mushrooms, and also practices forestry. Shima Onsen and Sawatari Onsen are both hot springs. In March 2010, Rokugoku Village, Agatsuma County, was incorporated into the town. Area: 439.28 ^km2 . Population: 18,216 (2010).

群馬県北西部，吾妻(あがつま)郡の町。吾妻川の支流四万(しま)川流域を占め，大部分は山地。主集落は吾妻川北岸の古くからの市場町で，吾妻線が通じる。米，コンニャク，果樹，キノコ類などを産し，林業も行う。四万温泉，沢渡(さわたり)温泉がある。2010年３月吾妻郡六合(くに)村を編入。439.28km²。１万8216人（2010）。
