A small lake in the northwest of Nagano Prefecture, in the north of Omachi City. It is one of the Nishina Sanko Lakes. It is a tectonic lake along the Itoigawa-Shizuoka Tectonic Line, and the western side is steeply sloped by the foothills of the Ushiro Tateyama Mountains, but the eastern side is gentler, with National Route 148 and the JR Oito Line running along the lake shore, and the Itoigawa Kaido (Chikuni Kaido) of the early modern period also passed along the lake shore. It has an area of 0.14 square kilometers, a circumference of 2 kilometers, and a maximum depth of 12 meters. In winter, it freezes over, making it possible to fish for smelt.
