Naga tribe - Nagazoku (English spelling) Naga
The people who live in the Nagaland region, centered on the Naga Hills along the border with Myanmar in northeastern India. Population: about 500,000. They are known for having retained the characteristics of a relatively old culture, with little influence from Hindu caste society. Racially, they belong to the Mongoloid race, and are made up of the Konyak, Ao, Sema, Chakhesang, Angami, Lhota, and many other tribes. They speak a Tibeto-Burman language, but there are marked differences in dialect between tribes, and there are also considerable regional differences in material culture and social organization.
