Japanese: 稲城[市] - いなぎ

A city in the southern part of Tokyo. It was incorporated as a city in 1971. It occupies the south bank of the Tama River and straddles the Tama Hills and the floodplains of the Tama River. It is a major producer of Tama River pears, and in recent years the number of tourist pear orchards has been increasing. The city is served by the Nambu Line and the Keio Sagamihara Line. The Tama Hills in the south are the eastern part of Tama New Town, which began in the 1960s, and have been developed into a residential area. Area: 17.97 ^km2 . Population: 84,835 (2010).

東京都南部の市。1971年市制。多摩川南岸を占め，多摩丘陵と多摩川の氾濫(はんらん)原にまたがる。多摩川ナシの主産地で，近年は観光ナシ園が増加している。南武線，京王相模原線が通じる。南部の多摩丘陵は1960年代に始まった多摩ニュータウンの東部にあたり，住宅地化が進んだ。17.97km²。８万4835人（2010）。
