Ido Yasushi - Ido Yasushi

Physician. Born in Okayama Prefecture. After graduating from the Sixth High School, he entered the Fukuoka Medical College of Kyoto Imperial University (the precursor to the Faculty of Medicine at Kyushu Imperial University), graduating in 1908 (Meiji 41). He became an assistant at the university and worked in the First Department of Internal Medicine, and in 1916 (Taisho 5) became an associate professor and shared the Third Department of Internal Medicine. In the same year, together with Inada Ryukichi, he received the Imperial Academy Prize for "research on jaundice hemorrhagic spirochete disease." In 1918, he became an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Tokyo Imperial University, and studied abroad in the United States. After returning to Japan, he became a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Kyushu Imperial University.

内科医。岡山県生まれ。第六高等学校を経て京都帝国大学福岡医科大学（九州帝国大学医学部の前身）に入り、1908年（明治41）に卒業。同大学の副手となり、第一内科教室に勤務、1916年（大正5）助教授になり、内科学第三講座を分担。同年、稲田竜吉とともに「黄疸(おうだん)出血性スピロヘータ病に関する研究」により帝国学士院恩賜賞を受賞した。1918年東京帝国大学医学部助教授に転じ、アメリカに留学。帰国後、九州帝国大学医学部教授となった。
