Toyama [town] - Tomiyama
A former town in Awa District, southern Chiba Prefecture. Facing the Uraga Channel, most of the area is hilly. The coast is suitable for swimming, and it is part of the Minamiboso Quasi-National Park. Rice, pear, and flower cultivation, as well as dairy farming, are thriving here. In March 2006, it merged with Awa District's Tomiura Town, Shirahama Town, Chikura Town, Maruyama Town, Wada Town, and Miyoshi Village to become a city, Minamiboso City. Area 40.34 km2 . Population 5,986 (2003).
