A Jewish holiday. Passover in English. It is a week from the night of the 14th day of the Jewish month Nisan. It commemorates the exodus of the Jewish people from slavery to Egypt. It is named after the story that when God killed the firstborn in Egypt, only the Jewish houses that had smeared the blood of a lamb on their doors were passed over. On the first day, a formal meal called "Seder" is held. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
