Ina District

…It refers to tenant farmers who provided agricultural and domestic labor during the busy farming season during the Edo period, mainly in Ina County, Shinano Province (Nagano Prefecture). Landlords who had tenant farmers were called "oyakata" or "oei," and the characters "o-tate" and "o-ie" were used.
