Prince of Croatia (reigned c. 910-c. 924), King of Croatia (reigned c. 924-c. 928). Date of birth and death unknown. First king of Yugoslav Croatia, and founder of the Trpimirovic dynasty (c. 845-1091), which ruled medieval Croatia for almost 200 years. He fought against the Magyars and expanded the border to the Drava River, and gained Dalmatia from the Byzantine Empire, calling himself king (924). He held a religious council (925, 928), banned the Slavic liturgy, and unified the whole country under Roman Catholicism under the Archbishopric of Split.
