A sect of Christians in North Africa in the 4th century, whose first leader was Donatus (died 355). After the death of Mensurius, the bishop of Carthage, Caecilianus was chosen, but 70 bishops and priests in Numidia opposed Felix's ordination on the grounds that he had committed treachery during the persecution of Diocletian, and so annuled his ordination and elected Majorinus instead (312).
