A feudal lord in the Sengoku period in Dewa Province. Later he became the lord of Shinjo Domain in Dewa Province. In the early Kamakura period, Taira no Sadamori's descendant, Kanemori, based himself in Tozawa-go, Shizukuishi, Iwate County, Mutsu Province, and called himself the Tozawa clan. His son Kanemori advanced to Kadoya, Yamamoto County, Dewa Province, and in the early 15th century, Iemori established his base in Kakunodate Castle in the same county. This is the theory in the Tozawa Family Genealogy, which was created in the early modern period, but there are no known historical documents to back this up. The first appearance of Iemori in existing historical documents was in the late 15th century, when he was listed as Taira no Hidanokami Iemori on a plaque at Jinguji Hachiman Shrine in Yamamoto County. His movements finally became clear at the end of the Sengoku period. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
