Born on March 6, 1562. Tokugawa Ieyasu's eldest son. His mother was Tsukiyamadono. He was born in Sunpu, Suruga (Shizuoka Prefecture). He married Oda Nobunaga's daughter Tokuhime. In the first year of the Genki era, he became the lord of Okazaki Castle and took the name Okazaki Jirozaburo Nobuyasu. He was suspected by Nobunaga of having a relationship with Takeda Katsuyori, and on Ieyasu's orders, he committed seppuku at Futamata Castle in Totomi (Shizuoka Prefecture) on September 15, 1572.
