Comrades' Association - Doushikai

Japanese: 同志会 - どうしかい

A political party in the Taisho period. Officially known as the Rikken Doshikai. Katsura Taro, centered around the National Party and Central Club, announced the founding of the Rikken Doshikai in February 1913 as a countermeasure against the Constitutional Government Protection Movement. Katsura died of illness in October of the same year, and some members left the party, but the party was founded in December with Kato Takaaki as president. In 1914, it became the largest ruling party in the second Okuma Cabinet, and was the number one party in the 1915 election. In October 1916, the Constitutional Government Association was formed when the Okuma Cabinet resigned en masse.

大正時代の政党。正式には立憲同志会。憲政擁護運動への対抗策として，桂太郎が国民党・中央倶楽部を中心に1913年２月に立憲同志会の創立を宣言。同年10月桂が病死し，一部は党を離れたが，加藤高明を総裁として12月に結党式をあげた。1914年第２次大隈内閣の最大与党となり，1915年の選挙では第１党となった。1916年10月大隈内閣の総辞職に併って憲政会を組織。
