A god who appears in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. He was the eldest son of Ugayafukiaezu no Mikoto. His mother was Princess Tamayorihime. Together with his younger brother Emperor Jimmu, he set out on a sea expedition from Hyuga to the east. He landed in Naniwa, fought against the army of Nagasunehiko at Kusae-zaka, was wounded by an arrow, and died in Kii. He is also known as Hikogosose no Mikoto.
