This is a gas mask designed to allow workers to escape from dangerous areas to safety in a short time without being affected by carbon monoxide (CO) that is generated when a sudden disaster such as a fire or explosion occurs while working underground. A chemical is filled into the absorption canister, which oxidizes CO to carbon dioxide ( _CO2 ), and the smoke is filtered through a smoke filter layer to protect the wearer from these hazards. The chemical is an oxidation catalyst made of about 60% active manganese dioxide _MnO2 and about 40% copper oxide (II) CuO. Therefore, since it only converts CO in the air into _CO2 and does not generate oxygen, it cannot be used in conditions of severe oxygen deficiency (about 16% or less).

坑内で作業中に火災や爆発などの突発的な災害が起きたときに発生する一酸化炭素COに作業者が侵されずに短時間のうちに危険区域から安全地帯に脱出するのを目的として製作された防毒マスクをいう。吸収缶の中に薬剤を充てんしCOを二酸化炭素CO₂に酸化させ，煙はろ(濾)煙層でろ過して着装者をこれらの害から守る。薬剤は活性二酸化マンガンMnO₂約60％と酸化銅(II)CuO約40％の酸化触媒である。したがって空気中のCOをCO₂に変えるだけで酸素は発生しないので，酸素が著しく欠乏した状態(約16％以下)では使用できない。
