Tenjindai - Tenjindai

Japanese: 天神平 - てんじんだいら

Takakurayama, a plateau located in Minakami-cho, Tone-gun, northern Gunma Prefecture. It is 1,300-1,400 meters above sea level. It is home to the Tenjindaira Ski Resort. Because of its high altitude, the snow quality is excellent, and skiing is possible from November to May of the following year. The Tanigawadake Ropeway runs 2.2 km from Doaiguchi to Tenjindaira, and there are also accommodation facilities such as Tanigawadake Lodge and Doai House. It is also the starting point for the Tanigawadake Tenjin Ridge hiking course. [Arisue Takeo]

群馬県北部，利根郡水上町にある高倉山北斜面の高原。標高1300～1400m。天神平スキー場がある。標高が高いため雪質がよく，11月から翌年5月までスキーができる。土合口から天神平まで2.2kmの谷川岳ロープウェーが通じ，谷川岳ロッジ，土合ハウスなどの宿泊施設も整っている。また谷川岳天神尾根登山コースの基点でもある。【有末武夫】
