Japanese: 電気通信網 - でんきつうしんもう（英語表記）electrical communication network

To carry out telecommunications, three types of devices are required: communication terminal equipment that converts the original information to be transmitted into an electrical signal, a transmission line that transmits the converted electrical signal, and a switch that sets up a connection path to the communication partner and performs various communication services associated with the communication. These devices are organically linked to each other to form a network. This network is called a telecommunications network. Figure 1 shows the basic configuration of a telecommunications network.
