He was an Indian religious leader who was one of the activists of the Vishnu faith that arose in the Maratha region of southwest India, and cooperated with the national hero Shivaji as his political advisor. He combined mysticism with politics, preached the protection of the people, and argued that an ideal emperor should be active without resting for even a moment.
