A military chronicler of H. Cortes' conquest of Mexico. He traveled to the West Indies in 1514, and in 1519 joined the Mexican expedition as a private under Alvarado. He obtained encomiendas in Tabasco and Chiapas on the Gulf Coast of Mexico, where he settled for a time, but in 1524 he joined Cortes' expedition to Honduras. He lost and gained encomiendas in the ensuing conflicts between the conquerors, but he was always dissatisfied with his treatment and worked hard to petition for rewards, even traveling to Spain twice. He settled in Guatemala City from 1540 onwards, and spent the rest of his long life as a city councillor.

H.コルテスによるメキシコ征服の従軍記録者。1514年西インド諸島に渡り，19年アルバラド麾下の一兵卒としてメキシコ遠征隊に参加。メキシコ湾岸タバスコとチアパスにエンコミエンダを得てひとまず定着したが，24年コルテスのホンジュラス遠征に加わる。その後の征服者間の抗争の中でエンコミエンダを失ったり得たりしたが，つねに処遇に不満で恩賞請願に奔走，スペイン本国にも2度渡った。40年以降グアテマラ市に住みつき，市参事会員として長い余生を送る。
