Japanese: ツユノイト（英語表記）Derbesia

A genus of multinucleated tubular marine green algae, it is distinguished from similar green algae such as Bryopsis and Chlorodesmus by their irregular or forked branching and lateral reproductive organs. Six species are known to grow in Japan, including D. marina (Lyngbye) Solier, D. tenuissima (Moris et De Notaris) Crouan, D. lamourouxii (J.Ag.) Solier, and D. ryukyuensis Yam.et Tanaka, and all but the northern species D. ryukyuensis are found in warm seas.

多核管状の海産緑藻の1属で，分枝が不規則または叉（さ）状であること，生殖器官が側生することで，似た緑藻のハネモ属Bryopsisやマユハキモ属Chlorodesmusなどと区別される。日本にはホソツユノイトD.marina (Lyngbye) Solier，ツユノイトケバD.tenuissima (Moris et De Notaris) Crouan，ツユノイトD.lamourouxii (J.Ag.) Solier，ヒメツユノイトD.ryukyuensis Yam.et Tanakaなど6種の生育が知られ，北方系のホソツユノイト以外は暖海域に分布する。
