Ichikawa

Japanese:
Ichikawa

This river flows south through central Hyogo Prefecture and empties into the Harimanada Sea. It is 75.8 km long. It originates west of Awagayama, at the eastern end of the Bantan Mountains, passes through Ikuno Dam in Asago City, and flows south through Kanzaki County. River terraces develop on both banks from around Fukusaki Town, and the Himeji Plain is formed downstream. The volume and quality of the water were the driving force behind the development of the coastal region. Although water transportation did not develop, the Ichikawa Valley was an important link between San'in and San'yo, and currently the JR Bantan Line, National Route 312, and Bantan Link Road run through it.
