A town in Kahoku County, central Ishikawa Prefecture, east of the Kahoku Lagoon. The city center is a post town that developed at the junction of the Hokuriku and Noto roads. It is also the junction of the IR Ishikawa Railway and the Nanao Line. Silk and rayon textiles, sake, and paper products are produced here. Kurikara Pass is located here. 110.59 km2 .
