〘名〙① 平安時代以降、荘園領主から土地の宛行(あてがい)を受けて請作(うけさく)する作人(さくにん)が、耕作田について獲得した耕作権と収益権をいう。中世には作手職(さくてしき)、作人職(さくにんしき)そのほかの称呼で呼ばれた。※田中忠三郎氏所蔵文集‐寛弘九年(1012)正月二二日・和泉国符案「浮浪之者適有二其心一、則依レ無二作手一不レ便寄作」② 職人。技術者。さくしゅ。※大乗院寺社雑事記‐文明二年(1470)三月晦日「中御門郷塗師御作手与四郎事非凡儀、御給分以下被レ宛二行之一」
