Asuke [town] - Asuke

Japanese: 足助[町] - あすけ

A former town in Higashikamo District, in the central north of Aichi Prefecture. It occupies the Asuke River basin on the Mino-Mikawa Plateau and is involved in agriculture and forestry. Automobile-related companies are located here. The central settlement is at the confluence of the Asuke River and the Tomoe River, and is served by National Route 153. It is home to Korankei. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Toyota City along with Fujioka Town and Obara Village in Nishikamo District, and Asahi Town, Inabu Town, and Shimoyama Village in Higashikamo District. Area: 193.27 ^km2 . Population: 9,859 (2003).

愛知県中北部，東加茂郡の旧町。美濃三河高原の足助川流域を占め，農林業を行う。自動車関連の企業が立地している。中心集落は足助川と巴川の合流点に位置し，国道153号線が通じる。香嵐渓(こうらんけい)がある。2005年４月西加茂郡藤岡町，小原村，東加茂郡旭町，稲武町，下山村と豊田市へ編入。193.27km²。9859人（2003）。
