Middle East Peace Issue

This term refers to attempts to resolve the conflicts between Arab countries and Israel, as well as between Israel and the Palestinians, that have continued since Israel's independence in 1948. When Israel gained independence on May 14, 1948, the surrounding Arab countries attacked Israel to prevent the creation of a Jewish state, beginning the First Arab-Israeli War. Subsequent Middle East wars occurred in 1956, 1967, and 1973, but in addition to the casualties of the war, the burden of military expenditure, and the risk of confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union, the serious impact on the world economy could no longer be ignored.
