A special corporation that invests in small and medium-sized enterprises to promote the enhancement of their capital. Established in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka under the Corporation Law (1963). The Minister of International Trade and Industry is involved in the establishment and other processes, and the Japan Finance Corporation for Small and Medium Enterprises underwrites the shares. The main business is underwriting new shares and convertible bonds for companies with capital of 100 million yen or less. All three companies were privatized in 1986. 中小企業の自己資本の充実を促進するため,中小企業への投資等の事業を行う特殊法人。同株式会社法(1963年)に基づき東京,名古屋,大阪に設立。設立その他に通産大臣が関与し,中小企業金融公庫がその株式を引き受ける。主業務は資本金1億円以下の株式会社の新株,転換社債の引受け。1986年より3社とも民間法人化された。
