Japanese: ニコチン剤 - にこちんざい

An insecticide whose active ingredient is nicotine, an alkaloid found in tobacco leaves. Records of tobacco being used to exterminate pests date back to the late 17th century. In addition to nicotine, other known insecticidal active ingredients include nornicotine and anabasine, and these are collectively known as nicotinoids. Nicotinoids are generally used as an aqueous solution of sulfate (product names: Black Leaf, nicotine sulfate), and applicable pests include aphids, tail beetles, thrips, leafminers, cotton bollworms, and psyllids.

タバコの葉に含まれるアルカロイドのニコチンを有効成分とする殺虫剤。タバコが害虫の駆除に用いられた記録は，17世紀後期にみられる。殺虫有効成分にはニコチンのほかにノルニコチン，アナバシンanabasineなどの同族体が知られており，それらをニコチノイドと総称する。ニコチノイドは一般に硫酸塩の水溶液(商品名ブラックリーフ，硫酸ニコチン)として用いられ，適用害虫はアブラムシ，グンバイムシ，アザミウマ，ハモグリガ，ワタムシ，キジラミなどである。
