Adam Jerzy Czartoryski

Japanese: チャルトリスキ(英語表記)Adam Jerzy Czartoryski
Adam Jerzy Czartoryski
1770‐1861
A Polish politician who lived through the tumultuous period from the partitions of Poland to the Great Exile after the November Uprising. The Czartoryski family was a Lithuanian noble family whose lineage can be traced back to the mid-15th century, but it was his grandfather, Aleksander August C. (1697-1782), who rose to prominence as a powerful magnate. His grandfather planned to put his son, Adam Kazimierz C. (1734-1823), on the Polish throne, but the son did not want to do so and the plan was not carried out.
