〘名〙① 葉茶をひいて抹茶を作るのに用いる石臼。京都府宇治朝日山の石が良いとされる。※太平記(14C後)一八「渦巻くに随て浪と共に船の廻る事、茶臼(チャウス)を推よりも尚速也」② 上下逆になること。また、上下逆にすること。特に男女交合で女性が上になる体位をいう。※浮世草子・浮世栄花一代男(1693)一「是一生のおもひでに女の願ひにまかせ茶臼(チャウス)を仕かけけるに」
