Japanese: 竹橋余筆 - ちっきょうよひつ

A collection of abstracts from the records of the Edo Shogunate Accounting Office compiled by Ota Nanpo. In 1800 (Kansei 12), Nanpo received orders from the Shogunate to investigate the various ledgers in the Accounting Office warehouse within the Takebashi Gate, and began sorting them. In his spare time, he excerpted written records, and in the same year completed "Takebashi Tokan," "Takebashi Yohitsu," and "Takebashi Yohitsu Bekshu," a handwritten transcription of the entire records. As the Accounting Office records were lost or burned, this book is a valuable source of socio-economic history. The Kokusho Kankokai edition, which includes the three books, has many omissions, and there is a facsimile edition published by Kyuko Shoin. [Ono Mizuo]

大田南畝編の江戸幕府勘定所記録の抄録集。南畝は1800年(寛政12)竹橋門内勘定所倉庫の諸帳面取調べの幕命をうけて整理に着手し，作業の暇に文書記録を抄出，同年中《竹橋蠹簡（とかん）》《竹橋余筆》，記録全文筆写の《竹橋余筆別集》が成った。勘定所記録の散逸焼失により本書は社会経済史料として貴重である。3書収録の国書刊行会本は省略が多く，影印本に汲古書院発行のものがある。【大野瑞男】
