(1) A mine car that can automatically unload (a vehicle used to transport ore in mines, etc.). (2) A truck that unloads soil and other cargo by tilting the loading platform with hydraulics or other means. Also called a dump truck. There are rear dumps that drop cargo backwards, side dumps that drop cargo to the side, and three-way dumps that can drop cargo freely backwards or on both sides.
